Trip to FunCity
Wednesday December 21st was a very special day for all of our kindergarten and nursery students as well as the teachers.
We all took a trip to fun city! With this being the 1st trip of our school year, it was a very exiting day.
The children enjoyed being with their classmates; taking advantage of the freedom to run, jump and laugh in the sun.
They enjoyed going on all the rides they could and by the time we finished eating our lunch; they wanted more but it was time for us to go home.
Bake Sale
The Kindergarten decorated tables and helped to bake dishes from a variety of cultures. They wore chef hats and took on the role of Yemen’s first ever Masterchef! They sold their food donated by their parents to other students, staff members and other parents. They even stood strong when others wanted to negotiate the prices set because they knew that all of the profits made would go to Dar Al-Rahmah. Thank you Kindergarten students and thank you parents! GREAT JOB!

Neighbors' Party
KG had a party about “Our Neighbors”. The class had a great time participating in acting out the short story. Children learnt about their neighborhoods and especially about their neighbors; for instance they learnt about the buildings and places there and how to treat their neighbors with respect.
children learnt that each one of us has our own neighbors and that we should respect and help them. They also learned that there are many different types of people , with different personalities. It was a nice reminder for us all, to do our best to always respect and never annoy our neighbors.
In the Quran Kareem class, the kids had a great party that showed creativity by way of songs and plays, and the kids performance was stunningly beautiful!
Fathers sport festival
The sport festival
Students spent last week preparing for the sports festival. They divided all the students into three teams - blue, green, and red. All the teams competed against each other in the favorite activities and sports. Students’ mothers attended the festival and had a chance to play against Manarat teachers. All three teams had a great time. The red team came in first place, the blue team in second, and the green team won the cup for best team work and spirit. The green team lost the games, but they were the real winners, for having shown such great team spirit.
“Green, blue, red… We are all friends…” was our motto during “sports festival”. This showed us that it does not matter who wins as long as they are together as one team. The festival finally came through after a lot of preparation from the teachers and administration and a lot of rehearsals on the part of the students, but even so, everyone was very excited and really enjoyed preparing and rehearsing for the festival.
The Nursery enjoyed practicing for the “sports festival”. The “sports festival” was amazing and the children especially, enjoyed playing with their mothers. They started to practice the activities for the “sports festival”.
In KG1, they practiced dancing for the “sports festival” and they sang “we love school”. The “sports festival” helped them to ‘blow off their steam’.
In KG2, the kids really enjoyed their time. When it came to moms and teachers, the kids didn’t know whom to cheer for more! “hmmm… moms or teachers, tough choice?!”.
They also were so happy when they played football.
Horse Ride
The students were very happy to have a horse in the school, as they enjoyed riding it. Lovely kids, they said “please, Miss, bring it back!” Later, while the kids were talking about old transportation during circle time, they expressed their feeling when they rode the horse and they told me, “Miss, tell Miss Jamila if she will agree to bring that horse again “.
The students enjoyed having the special opportunity of taking turns riding the horse.
